Translation
The plugin’s text domain is auctions-for-woocommerce. Its translation template is:
wp-content/plugins/auctions-for-woocommerce/languages/auctions-for-woocommerce.potCreate a translation
Section titled “Create a translation”- Open the POT file in a translation editor such as Poedit and create a translation for your locale.
- Translate the required messages. Preserve placeholders such as
%s,%d, and%1$s, including their order markers. - Save the editable PO file and compile the MO file.
- Place both files in
wp-content/languages/plugins/, creating that directory if needed. - Select the matching Settings → General → Site Language and check the storefront. An administrator’s profile language can differ from the site language.
For Croatian, use:
wp-content/languages/plugins/auctions-for-woocommerce-hr.powp-content/languages/plugins/auctions-for-woocommerce-hr.moUse the exact WordPress locale. For example, British English uses en_GB, while Croatian uses hr. The PO file is the editable source; WordPress loads the compiled translation.
Keep your custom translation outside the plugin directory so replacing the plugin does not delete it. Retain a separate backup of your translation files.
Check translated output
Section titled “Check translated output”Review auction messages, bid buttons, countdown labels, account pages, and enabled emails. WooCommerce and Elementor Pro have their own text domains; translating the auction POT does not translate every message those extensions display. Some Elementor widget labels in the auction integration also use elementor-pro.
After an update, merge the new POT into your PO, translate new or changed strings, and regenerate the MO file. If a message stays in English, check the locale, filename, text domain, translation coverage, and caches.
Multilingual stores
Section titled “Multilingual stores”Translating interface strings does not translate product titles, descriptions, or selected archive pages. The plugin contains WPML integration for product identity and auction state, but this is not a guarantee of compatibility with every multilingual or currency-switching configuration. Test translated product and base-page URLs, bidding, winner links, and emails on staging. Keep a single consistent auction currency unless your complete currency integration has been verified.
